Life at Willis & Bowring Solicitors: A Practice Manager’s Perspective

Hi, I’m Rebecca, the Practice Manager and Head of People and Wellbeing at Willis & Bowring Solicitors. I’ve been part of this wonderful firm for over a year now, and I’d love to share with you what makes working here such a unique and rewarding experience.

Since our establishment in 1960, Willis & Bowring Solicitors has grown into a close-knit team of approximately 26 staff members. Our office, located in a fantastic spot directly across from Miranda Westfield, is not only convenient but also carries a lot of charm, having been an old bank for over 30 years. This setting provides a blend of historic character and modern functionality, creating a truly inspiring place to work every day.

We believe strongly in the continuous growth and development of our team. Regular meetings help us stay connected and ensure everyone is on track and feeling supported. Plus, with our open-door policy with management, you can always come by for a chat with me, Pam, or Ben. Whether you have concerns, ideas, or just need some guidance, we’re here for you.

Our commitment to excellence has been recognised with several prestigious awards. In 2024, we proudly received the Australian Small Business Champion Awards for Legal Services and, in 2023, the Sutherland Shire Local Business Awards for Professional Services. We were also finalists in the 2024 Sutherland Shire Local Business Awards. These accolades reflect our dedication and the hard work of our fantastic team.

Community involvement is a core part of our identity. We collaborate with The Family Co in Jannali, an organisation dedicated to creating safe and positive communities for women, children, and families. Our commitment to local sports is strong, too. We support the Sutherland Shire Netball Association, Manly Wheelchair Basketball, and the Como Jannali Football Club, among others. Being active in the community not only helps others but also brings our team closer together.

One of the perks our employees love is the paid day off for their birthday. It’s a small gesture that shows we care about work-life balance and appreciate our team members. This kind of consideration is part of what makes our workplace special.

The loyalty and dedication of our staff speak volumes about our firm. Some of our team members have been with us for over 30 years, which is quite rare these days. This longevity highlights the supportive and positive environment we’ve cultivated here.

Working at Willis & Bowring Solicitors means being part of a team that values excellence, growth, and community. We strive to create a rewarding career for everyone who joins us, supported by a family of colleagues who truly care. If you’re looking for a place where you can thrive professionally and personally, come and join us. You’ll find a workplace that not only values your skills but also your well-being and growth.
