Free Seniors Seminar 27th September 2016

moran

When it comes to making decisions about aged care our experience is that most families leave the conversation until it is too late.   We meet many sons, daughters and other relatives who are faced with having to find an immediate Aged Care placement for their parent(s) at a time of high emotion and stress.  We often meet them following a fall, a hospital stay or perhaps the passing of a main carer.    The aim of our Seniors Seminar events is to provide an opportunity for seniors, their families and carers to find out what they don’t know about aged care, well ahead of time and in a calm enjoyable environment.

Who should attend? – Seniors, Carers and family members.

Why attend? – This is a great opportunity to learn about the many aspects of aged care, in a stress and commitment free environment.  We will have three local experts joining us on the day, all you have to do is enjoy morning tea prepared by our head chef, relax and listen to the experts who will make short presentations in plain English, covering the following areas.

Simon Boylan, Certified Financial Planner and Principal of Zenith Financial Planning will explain in simple terms how the aged care financial system works, the various fees and charges, funding options and how the aged care system interacts with Centrelink and DVA.

Adeline Schiralli, Willis & Bowring, Estate Planning and Elder Law Solicitor will discuss the legal issues around aged care, estate plans, wills, power of attorney and guardianship, family loan arrangements, personal guarantees and aged care contracts.

Jennifer Stuart Smith – Director of Care, Moran Health Care Group will discuss care, lifestyle and tips for choosing an aged care home.
